100 Words of Hope

We’ve been working with Literature Wales to create a spoken word initiative designed to inspire people, particularly those hardest hit by the pandemic, to meditate on HOPE – and what that means to them in a post pandemic world.

Connor Allen, the newly appointed Children’s Laureate Wales and Casi Wyn the Welsh Language Bardd Plant Cymru were commissioned by our client Eye Cymru, a revolutionary and immersive light and sound festival taking place at Cardiff Castle in 2022. Both works were unveiled on National Poetry Day (Oct 7th 2021).

In keeping with the ethos of Eye Cymru – billed as a collective moment of connection and contemplation – Connor and Casi, with two other spoken word artists (to be revealed soon) were tasked to meditate on the theme of 100 Words of Hope for a special spoken word section, planned to feature at the events next year.

Connor Allen unveils Knock Knock – his contribution to 100 Words of Hope;

The works will be showcased as the inspiration for others – Eye Cymru and Literature Wales will be inviting people to send in their compositions to a competition launching in early 2022.

The best of the entries will be selected by our spoken word artists and become a part of the Eye Cymru experience…

Some entries will be pre-recorded and broadcast into the soundscape (which has been composed by Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja, alongside 3D Spatial Sound specialist Marco Perry and singer songwriters Nick Mulvey and Gruff Rhys).

Other entries will be transferred into raw data and beamed into the night sky as part of the laser works.

    The high expectations of business to address and solve today’s challenges has never been more apparent. The heightened expectations of business bring CEOs new demands to focus on societal engagement with the same rigour, thoughtfulness, and energy used to deliver on profits.

    Purpose will be central to rebuilding brands in the society that is emerging after the pandemic. The businesses that will not just survive, but thrive, over the coming months and years will be those whose leaders embrace the notion that there is no merit in profit without purpose.
